2017 Update - Texas Supplement to the Guide for Tree Appraisal
This Texas Guide is designed to be used by professionals who need to perform plant appraisals involving casualties, damages and takings of plant materials.
This document represents the most recent update to the “Texas Supplement to the Guide for Plant Appraisal”, developed by the Texas Regional Plant Appraisal Committee under the auspices of the Texas Chapter - International Society of Arboriculture. It is intended to be utilized as a companion or supplement to the 9th Edition of the Guide for Plant Appraisal, written by the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers and published by the International Society of Arboriculture.
The third approximation of the Texas Supplement is based upon a reinterpretation of several key elements as they relate to the tree appraisal process. Since the publication of the second approximation in November of 2003, a great deal of new information has become available regarding the underlying theories which provide the foundation for the appraisal methods outlined in the Guide. CTLA continues to research and refine tree appraisal concepts and methodology, so additional changes are anticipated following publication of the upcoming 10th Edition of the Guide.
